Hearing and Ear Disorders

Around 3.6 million people in Australia are suffering from hearing loss. The most common causes are age-related and excessive exposure to loud noise. Conditions may be caused by problems in the ear, the neck, sinuses or head. It is estimated more than 1.3 million people live with a hearing condition that could have been prevented. Adults with untreated hearing loss may be at risk of developing other health problems.

Your hearing health can say a lot about any underlying conditions you may have with your ears. It helps your doctor understand whether it is an easily treatable ear infection or something more serious.

Babies and young children are more vulnerable to middle ear infections. If left untreated, hearing loss and ear disease can affect a child's learning and development.
